Online treatments

In 2020 we have had to adapt to new ways of conducting business and this has lead me to develop an option for online treatments.  This can be confronting to begin with but it can be done, even for a manual therapy like lymphatic drainage.

What to expect from an online appointment

I bet you’re wondering how on earth you can have a lymphatic drainage appointment online when usually I’m the one doing the treatment while you’re on my table.

I’m not going to lie, it’ll be very different, but as we have no idea how long we’re going to be in isolation, there will come a time when you just have to have treatment.  This is my solution.

We’ll use video conferencing and I will guide YOU through the treatment which either you do yourself or your partner/carer does for you under my guidance.  It CAN be done, it just takes a slight adjustment in perception.

Firstly, click on the link in your appointment confirmation or reminder at the time of the appointment and miraculously we will have video and audio … ah, the wonders of modern technology.

As I normally do, I will check in to see how you’ve been, physically, emotionally and mentally.   I’ll also check to see if you have any questions or any symptoms you are concerned about.

You will need to have whichever part of your body is to be worked on uncovered, so for your legs, trousers off please, for an arm, top off.  I’d strongly recommend not sitting in front of a window!

Now we get to the treatment part.

I will do the full treatment on myself and get you to follow along with me, or if someone else is helping you, I will talk them through and you can give them feedback as to their pressure.  This can be done seated in your chair or on a sofa/bed, whatever is most comfortable for you.  We will have a definite focus on diaphragmatic breathing as the abdominal part of treatment is perhaps the trickiest and breath work is a very effective way to clear the belly.

It’s a simple as that.  What you get is a much longer, more detailed self-treatment which is very effective in getting your lymph moving again.

And of course it’s very important to be able to keep regular appointments happening so that your lymphatic system doesn’t start to become sluggish.
